Mrs. Haas   K2-PM      Octoober 25-29, 2010

We will continue to learn about spiders and begin to explore the seasons as we talk about fall and leaves.   We have been reading and doing some work with the book THE BIGGEST PUMPKIN  EVER.  This is our story bit story and the story bit will come home on Thursday!  Please have your child retell the story and write it on the paper enclosed.  Put the “story bit” in his/her story bit box and return only the paper and the Ziploc bag to school.  This activity helps to build comprehension skills and is very important for our kindergarten development! This week we will complete our assessments and it is Parent Conference week.  I have written your conference date and time at the bottom of this page.  If you cannot make the time you are scheduled please let me know as soon as possible so we can reschedule.!  Please make sure to mark all jackets and sweaters with your child’s name!   Silly bands are becoming a problem in our classroom.  Please encourage your child NOT to wear them to school!              HOMEWORK:  Please continue to complete homework each night.  I will be including some individualized homework please complete it as well.  Read the book(s) sent home and record it on the readi.ng log!   .   Please remember to NOT park in the bus loading zone when you drop your child off each day AND please use the designated crosswalk when crossing the street with your child ! Thank you for teaching our children to be safe at school !    We are now collecting Fresh and Easy receipts. Send them into school – we receive $1 for every $20 spent! Thank you for sending in your box tops – please continue to do so!  We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week.  There is a special activity planned for each day (see calendar for more info). Please note the costume requirements for Thursday Oct. 28. Costumes are to show what you want to be when you grow up!   Please do not send your child in any other costume and no masks please! Thank you to all who have given generous voluntary donations of cooking supplies to our classroom-we couldn’t do it without you!  A November letter will be given at your conference.  Themes for the Week:  spiders, pumpkins,  Fall, Red Ribbon
